Sergeant Billie King, who served with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force at Chicksands from 1941-1947, drew a series of cartoons which humorously depict life on the RAF base for the Y-Service personnel. Featured in many of her drawings is her ‘alter-ego’ Corporal Billy Bunt.
