Robbins T, Brigadier
Brigadier Robins originally enrolled as a private on 25 February 1909 in the 10th Batallion The King’s Liverpool Regiment, (The Liverpool Scottish) TA.
He served throughout the First World War. First with the Liverpool Scottish then, when commissioned with the 6th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, seconded to the Intelligence Corps.
He was appointed Intelligence Officer to the 62nd (West Riding) Division from 1917-1919.
During the Second World War he held the following appointments:
1939 – 1940 Commandant Intelligence Training Centre at Cambridge
1941 – 1943 Colonel GS01 to British Army Staff, Washington DC
1943 First Commandant Civil Affairs Staff Centre at Wimbledon when he was promoted Brigadier
1943-1945 Chief Staff Officer for Civil Affairs, Headquarters 21 Army Group
In addition to his British, American, French and Belgian Awards as shown here, he was Mentioned in Dispatches thrice during 1917 – 1919.
