Brigadier EJ Shearer served through two World Wars and during the Inter-War years in India. His long service continued into civilian life where he was an Inspector with the Special Constabulary.

The neck jewels are; on the left, Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Bath (CB), and on the right, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE).
