ZIL 131
The ZIL 131 is an East German Signals Intelligence vehicle, which was used to intercept the radio communications of the Forces of the Western Allies stationed in West Germany during the Cold War.
When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, the police in East Germany gave this truck to the British. Years were spent analysing and examining every part of the truck, and when nothing more was to come from it, the truck was given to the museum.
