Para Jacket
This 1951 Pattern Battledress jacket was worn by an Intelligence Corps Lance Corporal (one chevron 'stripe') who had passed the Parachutist training course. The coveted Para Wings are below the Intelligence Corps shoulder title.
The 'Pegasus' flying horse formation flash was first adopted by Airborne forces in the Second World War. In 1951 he would have been a member of either the 1st or the 6th Parachute Division. The Pegasus badge has recently been reinstated for wear by today's members of Airborne units.
