Asbury SV, Sergeant
On 14th July 1946 the family of Sergeant SV Asbury received the signal informing them that their son had died the previous day of Poliomyelitis. He was aged just 24.
A keen sportsman, Asbury, played Cricket, Hockey and Football. He joined the Home Guard on the advent of war and the Intelligence Corps when called up in February 1943. Only 6 months later he was in India with a Special Signals Unit, serving there until his untimely death.

He is buried in the Madras War Cemetery, Chennai, India.
