Dodds R, Lieutenant
Ralph Dodds joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment in 1939 and served with them and subsequently with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment, the SAS and the Jamaica Regiment before transferring to the Intelligence Corps in 1960.
He later served in the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) and, as Lieutenant Colonel R Dodds TD, he commanded all of the Intelligence Corps officers and soldiers in that theatre. This was a time of great change in the Intelligence Corps and during it he completely reorganised the Corps and set it on an effective footing in the way it supported BAOR. His work in BAOR set the pattern for Corps reorganisation world wide.
His medals are, left to right: 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and Territorial Efficiency Decoration.
