Beryl Hart enrolled in the Woman’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) and joined the Y Service.
Although unconfirmed, she is believed to have been the first WAAF to be stationed at Chicksands where she worked in the Administration Office.
She served on after the war, reaching the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Her medals are, from right to left: the Defence Medal, War Medal and the General Service Medal with Malaya Clasp.
